Isomonte is one of the most traditional companies of Contagem. Based in Cinco, its main activity is to manufacture machines and equipments for mining and the iron and steel industry and it develops an important work of selective collection and recycling of materials such as paper, plastic and scrap, besides recycling the oil used during the industrial process during two years which is reused in order to save and protect the environment.
As a consequence of these activities, the company finally acquired its environmental licence extended in May 9th, by the Environmental State Foundation – Feam, current upto 2012. Then, José Ruben Alves Almeida, director of the company, said and announced the development of a new project by Isomonte: the installation of a paint cabin in the company in order to stop outsourcing the service.

There exists a strict control about the industrial waste, storaged specially to be sent to the authorized companies to be recycled or used in the manufacturing processes, “such as Belgo Mining, for example, which buys our waste of steel filings, used for their productsâ€, Paulo Roberto Fulgêncio, manager of the company, explains.
He also emphisises that all waste produced in the company, included in the administrative area, is treated in the same way such as paper, plastic, tins, fluorescent lights and mercury vapor and even the tow used for cleaning the equipments which is carefully storaged to be recycled then or taken to a sanitary disposal site.
